What We Do - 4 Simple Steps Toward Actionable & Intelligent Analytics

  • Send Us The Data
  • We Load The Data
  • We Create Dashboards
  • You View Reports
Send us your data as often as you require updated analysis

The data file(s) represent a customer/donor list, including myriad attributes that you are interested in analyzing, such as gender, ethnicity, and age as well as individual metrics (numbers) such as Total Amount Given This Year, Percent Variance This Year Vs. Last Year, etc. Additional analysis in the areas of campaign, communications, and funding are also included.

The data file can be in the form of Microsoft Excel, CSV (comma separated value), or you can even give us access to relational database sources to extract data directly from tables. We'll work with you to determine which format makes the most business sense.

This can be accomplished a number of ways and we'll agree on the most efficent means for your organization. The file(s) can be emailed to us, uploaded to a secure file server, downloaded by us from your file or web server, and more. If you decide to allow us secure access to your customer database, we'll need login credentials and table access.

Most clients elect to send us data files monthly in addition to periodic reporting cycles that follow fund raising events. You can follow this recommendation or set up a reporting cycle that meets your business needs.

Lastly, you'll receive the packaged dashboards and reports from us
When the dashboards and reports are created/updated, we'll provide access to them in a secure, web-based environment that we host and maintain. All you need is a web browser for access! Of course, the reports can be shared with peers and other decision makers via link sharing, email, Microsoft Powerpoint integration, and more.

Our reports are created using a technology called Flash that allows for web-based interactivity and a rich user interface. After logging in to the secure customer environment, you'll instantly be able to interact with the dashboard reports--highlighting key areas of interest, drilling down to additional details, and monitoring key performance indicators to catch exceptions and gauge strategic progress against initiatives and goals.
Next, we'll turn the models in to reporting dashboards
Creating the dashboards takes some knowledge of dimensional reporting techniques and experience using analytic tools, which is why we handle this part of the service as well. Collectively, we have over 30 years of experience creating dashboards, interactive reports, and working with analytic tools. We understand what needs to go in to analytics in order to get something out of it.

A dashboard is an interactive page that allows business users to navigate and drill in on pre-built reports that answer questions deemed important to understanding your customer base and overall performance according to stated goals. A dashboard should be intuitive enough to business users to allow instant report navigation and ad hoc querying with little to no analytic training.
We'll model and load the data in to the reporting tool
A "data model" represents a current and historical view of your data using best-practice designs that allow reporting users to quickly change the way a report is presented using additional attributes. In the analytics world, we call these additional attributes 'dimensions'; therefore, we are dimensionalizing the report using simple drop down values to answer very general or highly specific questions.

After the reporting dimensions and metric (numbers) are built and loaded into the analysis tool, we immediately build out the desired dashboards and reports that will allow you to gain greater insight in to your customer base and campaign strategy. This is where the majority of the time and resources is spent, something you won't need to be concerned with because we handle all of this on your behalf.
